Research assistance at the Galesburg Public Library every Wednesday. (The genies will be there to help people but are not
available to answer phone queries).
THE SOCIETY'S LIBRARY COLLECTION:
The Society's library collection is presently housed at the
Galesburg Public Library. This collection includes genealogies,
census records, periodicals and other resource material. While West Central Illinois is the focus, there are materials available for
many states and this collection is one of the best in the area. Over
30 CD-ROMs are included in the Society's collection, centering on
census indexes for a significant portion of the US east of the
Mississippi. The society has a computer for access to the CD-ROM
materials.
GENIES & RESEARCH ASSISTANCE
Genies are available at the Galesburg Public Library every
Wednesday afternoon to assist beginning researchers and those
unfamiliar with the library collection. They are unable to answer
phone questions, the phone is the library phone and not the
society's. Thank you.

Knox County has a wonderful history. Settlers from the eastern US
and several European nations made their home in Knox County. The
Society strives to preserve records from the entire county and to provide educational opportunities for individuals researching any of
the area's varying ancestral backgrounds.
